Start with the equipment serving your flat
For a hot-water problem in Stratford, Canning Town or another Newham neighbourhood, tell us whether the home has its own boiler, an electric cylinder or a connection to a building system. The same cold shower can arise from quite different equipment. Include whether the kitchen tap is affected and whether neighbours have reported a similar interruption.

For privately commissioned work, name the person who can approve investigation and parts. If a managing agent controls a shutdown, obtain their arrangements before the work date. Arrange the permit against the actual work and vehicle
Newham offers trade permits for work at properties in Residential Parking Zones. The application requires evidence of the work and the vehicle details, and eligibility includes vehicle size limits. Check the current council terms before arranging a planned installation; a permit application is not the same as an approved parking arrangement.
For a building with its own loading area, tell us about booking requirements, gate clearance and the route from unloading to the flat. Cylinder deliveries and pipework materials may need different arrangements from a diagnostic visit, including protected lift space.
