Ask to see how the repair location matches the survey observations. A quotation to line an unspecified length is difficult to assess. The scope needs to distinguish structural defects from operational maintenance and explain whether there are other issues that lining would leave unresolved.
What drain relining means
Cured-in-place lining is one approach used in drainage rehabilitation: a suitable liner system is installed and cured within the prepared pipe. Other local repair and coating systems exist, and their purpose and suitability are not identical. Ask which method is being proposed rather than treating every product described as no-dig as the same repair.
The installation proposal identifies the actual liner system, its intended use and the preparation and acceptance checks. Local patch repair can target a confined defect, while a longer liner may address an affected run. The choice follows the surveyed condition, connection layout and working access rather than the product name alone.
When excavation or replacement may be more appropriate
A collapsed section, severe displacement or an inaccessible obstruction may prevent a liner being installed satisfactorily. A route with an inappropriate fall or geometry may need alteration rather than simply a new internal surface. Suitability depends on what is actually found, not on a preference to avoid lifting a driveway.

Ask for the extent of the repaired section, any remaining defects and the terms of any supplied guarantee in writing. Do not assume a universal lifespan or that a warranty applies to the whole drainage network. If a later problem occurs elsewhere, clear records help distinguish the original repair from an unrelated section.
