Use the actual application reference and accepted proposal. Ask what must be inspected, photographed or certified and when the information must be submitted. If a required detail has already been covered, tell the supplier and ask what is needed; do not submit an old or unrelated image as evidence. A truthful limitation is better than a record that appears complete but does not show the installed work.

Manage changes and failed checks before reinstatement
If the supplier requests a correction or more information, identify the affected section and the person responsible. Keep the revised arrangement and subsequent evidence linked to the original reference. A change in route or material may need further review rather than a verbal assurance that it is approximately the same.
Tell the reinstatement contractor when the area must remain available and agree safe temporary arrangements through the responsible site team. Avoid covering work just to meet a finish date while an essential inspection is outstanding. The later cost of reopening is only one concern; the project also needs a reliable record that the accepted installation is the one actually connected.
Close the project with both connection and private records
After the agreed checks and connection, retain the supplier confirmation, private installation record and route information. Document the relevant isolation and meter details for future maintenance. Identify any residual reinstatement or commissioning work rather than assuming the supply becoming live means every project task is complete.
